Design and Construction
The mid-sized Canyon pickup truck offers all of the Professional Grade attributes you will find in the larger trucks, but in a smaller package. However, the Canyon offers more than a smaller size. It works and plays big.Â
To play big, the Canyon's story begins at the frame. High strength steel forms a ladder frame that provides a strong backbone to this award-winning truck. A tough suspension - independent up front, multi-leaf in the rear - balances the load, while maintaining a solid ride for everyone inside the cab. Performance
The Canyon is powered for economy and efficiency in mind, as well as sure performance to manage the toughest loads in its class. The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower on tap, direct fuel injection and variable valve timing. Available is a 305 horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 bring the power to the Canyon.Â
There is also the Duramax turbocharged diesel engine. This engine is designed to be the best-in-class in towing, payload and fuel economy. With 369 pound-feet of torque, the Canyon diesel is capable of hauling 1,464 pounds in the box and a maximum 7,600 pound towing capacity. It can get up to 28 MPG on the highway.
Interior
The Canyon offers a wider field of vision all around thanks to larger windows and side mirrors. For further assistance, a Canyon could be equipped with Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Alert and Rear Vision Camera - all designed to ensure optimal safety for everyone on board - as well as the truck itself.Â
Anyone behind the wheel of a Canyon will appreciate its Professional Grade set-up. All of the main gauges are right there, along with a Driver's Information Center that could be customized for any other readouts a driver needs for their truck. Seats are big and comfortable, just as expected in a truck. In a Crew Cab, there is room for up to five adults. You also get all of your information and entertainment from the GMC Infotainment System right in the middle of the dashboard.Â

With two cabs and two box lengths available
The Canyon has three configurations to choose from. There are also five trims available - Canyon, SLE, SLT, All Terrain, and Denali. The All Terrain package is available for more off-road capability, along with distinctive details inside and out. On top of all of that, there is the choice of going two- or four-wheel drive.
