Top Features of the New Acadia Design
The Acadia entered its third design generation for the 2024 model year. This current design and its multitudinous upgrades are retained for the 2025 model. Ewing GMC-Buick lists several of the most important upgrades from this latest design change.
Bigger and Roomier
In its latest redesign, the Acadia returned to a fuller-size model by adding both more passenger and cargo room. It adds 8.4 inches to the wheelbase and about 8.5 inches overall. Front and rear shoulder room and legroom have all increased by multiple inches. Even with the third-row seats up, you will find 23 cubic feet of cargo space. With the third-row seatbacks folded, this climbs to 57.3 cubic feet. When both second- and third-row seats are folded, there is a massive 97.5 cubic feet of space, making it one of the largest cargo spaces among three-row crossovers.
Although second-row captain’s chairs are standard across the model line, the Elevation trim is available with a second-row bench seat that easily accommodates three adults, bringing the total seating capacity to eight.
Smaller Engine, More Power
The previous Acadia was powered by a pair of engines, starting with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four and an available 3.6-liter V6. The new Acadia splits the difference with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four producing 328 horsepower and 326 lb-ft of torque. This amounts to about 6% more horsepower and about 20% more torque than the previous model’s V6, along with slightly improved fuel economy.
Greater Towing Capacity
The longer wheelbase and reinforced structure give the Acadia greater stability. Combined with the greater torque, towing capacity increases to up to 5,000 pounds, which is 1,000-1,500 pounds higher than the previous design.

Bigger and Better Cabin Technology
With phone pairing, navigation apps, and so many audio sources and other systems to control, it helps to have a touchscreen large enough to make everything easy to operate. Thus, a big 15.0-inch touchscreen is standard on the redesigned Acadia, which is almost twice the size of the previous model’s 8.0-inch screen. Behind it is the Google Built-In operating system, which includes on-board Google Maps, Google Assistant, and other available Google apps. The system is easy to use, but if you prefer, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces are on-hand with a wireless connection.
The driver enjoys a standard 11.0-inch configurable digital gauge cluster. In addition, an available surround camera system offers eight different camera views, including a hitch view to line up with a trailer and an HD surround system that can help you center your Acadia perfectly within the parking spot lines every time.

More Safety and Driver Assistance Features
The GMC Pro Safety suite is standard on all 2024 and 2025 Acadia models and features more than 15 standard safety and driver assistance features, including:
- Forward Collision Alert
- Following Distance Indicator
- Front Pedestrian and Bicycle Braking
- IntelliBeam High Beam Assist
- HD Rear Vision Camera
- Rear Park Assist
- Safety Alert Seat
- Rear Cross Traffic Braking
- Blind Zone Steering Assist
- Buckle to Drive
- Rear Seat Reminder
- Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking
- Rear Pedestrian Detection
- Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Speed Limit Assist
- Side Bicyclist Alert
- Enhanced Lane Keep Assist
- Reverse Auto Braking
- Traffic Sign Recognition

Available Super Cruise
This is also a driver assistance feature, but it is robust enough to deserve its own billing. Available on Elevation Premium, AT4, and Denali trim levels, Super Cruise eliminates the stress and simple monotony of long-distance highway driving.
The system features nearly 750,000 miles of North American highways in its database. When engaged, this system allows you to remove your hands from the wheel and feet from the pedals as the Acadia centers itself in the lane. When you encounter a vehicle in front, the system will remain a set distance behind. A simple flick of the turn signal will cause the system to execute a safe lane change pass on its own.
If you have an active family, it is hard to beat the versatility of a three-row crossover, and the Acadia is well-suited to be your choice. We invite you to visit Ewing GMC-Buick, where you can test drive the 2024 and 2025 GMC Acadia and see what all its new enhancements mean to you.
