Performance
The model lineup includes 2X and 3X models, with the numbers indicating the number of motors in the drivetrain. For EV SUV 2X models, there is one motor in the front and one in the rear, providing both four-wheel drive and up to 570 horsepower, along with a claimed 7,400 lb-ft of torque. This torque figure is measured at the wheels after being multiplied by a reduction gear. Each motor produces between 380 and 400 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a combined output of 760 to 800 lb-ft.
For the 3X model, there is one electric motor in the front and two in the rear, and together, they produce 830 horsepower—with an available 1,160 horsepower temporarily in Watts to Freedom (WTF) mode. This generates 13,000 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, with 380 to 400 lb-ft of output from each wheel.
Because these are electric motors, all that torque is accessible from the moment the wheels start to turn. As a result, with the available Watts to Freedom feature, the EV SUV 3X can go from a standstill to 60 mph in an impressive 3.3 seconds—faster than many high-end sports cars—reach 100 mph in 8.8 seconds, and complete the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds. Not bad for a vehicle with 128 cubic feet of cabin space.
With its shorter wheelbase, the EV SUV has off-road advantages over the truck. While both share the same amazing 49.6-degree approach angle, the SUV’s departure angle nearly matches the front at 49.0 degrees. The 34.4-degree breakover angle betters the Pickup by 2.2 degrees.
The shorter 2026 HUMMER EV SUV also enhances maneuverability. The 4-Wheel Steer system on the 2X and 3X trims has a 35.4-foot turning radius. The e4WD system on the 3X can direct front power to a single wheel when needed, which, along with 13 inches of suspension travel, helps the vehicle move through very tough terrain. It can climb 60 percent grades (forward and reverse), scale 18-inch verticals, and cross over more than two feet of water. New for 2026 is further tuning of the dampers, leading to an overall improvement in ride quality.
One-Pedal Driving can bring the vehicle to a complete stop simply by reducing pressure on the accelerator pedal, offering excellent control while recharging energy into the battery. At the same time, Terrain Mode uniquely combines the brake system with One-Pedal Driving, giving the driver precise control during off-road driving and rock crawling.
Standard on all models, the new King Crab feature modifies CrabWalk by having the rear wheels steer more quickly than the front, improving maneuverability in tight off-road areas, rock crawling, or when pulling out of a tight parallel parking spot. Since this is purely a software update, King Crab will also be available to existing 2022–2024 owners through an Over-the-Air (OTA) update later this year. King Crab exemplifies Hummer’s commitment to the “Mystery Mode” button, where owners can submit their own “epic ideas” to GMC.
The Hummer EV SUV’s off-road capability can be enhanced further with the Extreme Off-Road Package, which includes:
- Unique 18-inch wheels and 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires
- Underbody armor and rock sliders
- UltraVision with protected front- and rear-facing underbody cameras and a wash system. Front eLocker and rear virtual lockers
- Heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts
Exterior
The bold design of the 2026 GMC HUMMER EV SUV draws inspiration from past HUMMER models. The SUV features a boxy shape with four doors and a side-hinged rear gate. Alloy wheels range from 18 to 22 inches, depending on the model and package.
The Carbon Fiber Edition Package is available on 3X models for $17,500 and features an exclusive Magnus Gray Matte exterior and Velocity Ember interior theme with colors chosen to emphasize movement and form. The battery pack expands from the usual 20 modules to 24. These special edition units will also include the following as standard:

Technology
Every 2026 HUMMER EV SUV features a large 13.4-inch diagonal screen that includes an in-vehicle Energy App, besides the expected infotainment functions. This app displays energy consumption, allows users to set charging schedules, monitors battery temperature conditioning, and more. It can also show information about the SUV’s selectable capabilities and provide performance readouts during off-road driving, such as ride height, eLocker engagement, compass headings, pitch/roll status, and additional data.
There is also a trail mapping feature that helps you plan and navigate off-road adventures, including charging locations and their distances from off-road sites. It also offers real-time energy consumption updates. The SUV is available with four removable “Sky Panels” that can be stored in the frunk. The tailgate swings to the side to open a 48-inch-wide cargo space.
The available Power Station generator offers extensive external power capabilities for off-road adventures and more. With upgraded vehicle hardware, the 2026 HUMMER EV SUV can jump-charge another electric vehicle at 240v/25A/6kW and power a variety of equipment and accessories at 120v/25A/3kW.
