The New GMC Canyon

Design 

GMC Canyon has evolved from its previous model, as it has undergone a heavy redesign for its third generation. With a greater focus on off-road performance and style, the 2023 vehicle has opted for a hunkier build that looks technical but also intimidating.  

The new model is 10-inches wider compared to previous models. To accompany its now wider, more imposing stance, New GMC Canyon also makes use of much sharper edges, notably above its fenders.

Interior Space and Luxuriousness 

While GMC Canyon comes with a four-door crew-cab, short-bed configuration, its interior is given a unique identity for each trim level. Luxurious Denali trim offers features such as wood and leather furnishing, or red seat belts are artistically paired with exclusive Ceramic White and Obsidian Rush color treatments for a racing and sport look in the AT4X trim. 

 

Cabin & Technology 

GMC Canyon takes a step forward by offering a variety of features in its cabin. This pickup is offered with a standard 11.3-inch diagonal center touch-screen, while an 11-inch Driver Information Center and a class-exclusive 6.3-inch Head Up Display are available as optional features. Also, GMC Infotainment System comes with Google built-in and offers wireless integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 

New Canyon is equipped with waterproof front and rear underbody cameras providing you with ten different camera views, along with an HD Surround Vision.

Performance 

With fuel economy and efficiency in mind, GMC has ensured the 2023 Canyon finds no hurdle in its performance. Built to perform excellently on and off the road, this car utilizes a 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine paired with 8-speed automatic transmission. Thus, this midsize truck offers 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque while benefiting from a whopping maximum towing capacity of 7700 pounds. 

 

Safety 

As expected, the Canyon is well-equipped with standard tech utilized for avoiding accidents. These driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking with pedestrian and cyclist alert, IntelliBeam automatic high beams, following distance indicator, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, and forward collision alert.  

If you are looking for more safety features to ensure an even safer journey on the road, you can go for optional features such as blind-spot monitors, rear automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and a surround-view camera system by purchasing Canyon Safety Plus Package and Technology Package. 

GMC Canyon is an Off-Road Masterpiece, Offered in four Trim  Levels 

All GMC Canyon trims have received a two-inch factory lift for the 2003 model, while the factory lift for AT4X trim has gone to three inches. This provides most trims with a ground clearance of 9.6 inches and the AT4X trim with 10.7 inches.  

Plus, some trims come with more off-road-ready tires. Additional features such as extra bumpers and 17-inch bead-lock-capable wheels are also offered through the Edition 1 Package.
