2025 GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate: There’s a lot to Like

April 10th, 2025 by

Twenty-five years ago, the Denali name first appeared on a GMC vehicle, quickly becoming one of the big attractions for GMC’s lineup of pickup trucks and SUVs. Denali models represent the ultimate in luxury, wrapped in progressional grade design. These days, you have another level of Denali luxury to choose from in the form of the Denali Ultimate trim. This ultra-premium trim elevates the Denali with luxurious extras and an overall special feeling.

Recently, Forbes Magazine took a 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate on a test drive. The writer came up with five reasons to like this top-of-the-line pickup truck, all of which should be no surprise to anyone who owns one or has investigated one.

The first item on the list was Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free driver assistance technology. Under proper conditions with an attentive driver, the system can also be enabled to allow for hands-free lane changing along with hands-free trailering. As Forbes said, “[t]his is important technology for GM, and it continues to get better and better.

When you get behind the wheel, you are greeted with distinct start-up graphics showing you the majestic Denali peak from Alaska. At 20,310 feet above sea level, the tallest peak in North America is, as Forbes described it, an “apt analogy for this grade as the summit of the GMC trim line.

The profile of the namesake mountain is found on the front seatbacks of the Denali Ultimate. They are adjustable 16 ways and include a massage feature. They are also heated and ventilated for year-round comfort. The luxurious interior also includes a 12-speaker Bose audio system and Paldao open-pore wood trim. Forbes describes the Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate’s cabin as “a warm, cozy atmosphere that feels more like a living room or study than a car.

Another piece of technology that you can see inside the Denali Ultimate’s cabin is the 14 camera angles found inside the infotainment touchscreen. Among these available screens is the Transparent Trailer View, making backing up a trailer an easier task than ever. Forbes stated that “[g]reat camera views are critical, especially when you’re driving off-road or towing. GMC has been endowing its vehicles with a stellar camera system for several years, and the latest iteration is no exception.”

The ultimate in a pickup truck comes down to how much power it puts down and how much it can tow. The 2025 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate trim can be optioned with a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine with 460 pound-feet of low-end grunt. This powerplant is capable of towing up to 13,000 pounds. Forbes summed this up by saying: Just think—you could use it to help your college kid move into their next apartment. Or toss a bunch of camping gear in the back of your GMC Sierra and hit the road.

The 2025 Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate offers unmatched luxury, technology, and performance. It is truly the ultimate pickup truck in its size class. If you are curious about checking one out, contact us at Ewing GMC of Plano to experience one soon!
