2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali Goes 507 Miles During Range Test

How far can you go in a 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali? Edmunds.com got 507 miles of range on a full battery. It is worth noting that the Environmental Protection Agency rated the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Max Range Denali at 460 miles on a single charge from energy drawn from a 205-kilowatt-hour liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery pack.  

How? The Edmunds.com testing protocol was as follows: “We aim for a mix of 60% city and 40% highway driving, with an average speed of 40 mph. This mix better represents the real-world conditions of EV drivers, rather than just getting on the highway and setting the cruise control to 70 mph. Drivers stay within 5 mph of posted speed limits and use a Racelogic VBOX to record the distance traveled. We tested the Sierra EV on a sunny but cool 58-degree day.” 

The 2025 GMC Sierra EV uses 800-volt architecture, enabling a DC fast charging speed of up to 350 kilowatts. This translates into recouping 100 miles of range in approximately 10 minutes. You now have over 250,000 public locations to charge up your Sierra EV, including 20,000 Tesla Superchargers. Use your myGMC app or Google Assistant on your infotainment screen to help you find the nearest charging location.    

On board is Power Station Pro, with 10.2 kilowatts of off-boarding power. You also have Vehicle-to-Home capability, enabling your Sierra EV to provide power to your home in a blackout for up to 21 days. This is done through reduced daily energy usage when properly equipped.  

The Sierra EV is powered by two motors, one on each axle. All told, this driveline puts down a maximum output of 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque in Max Power Mode. This driveline is also capable of towing up to 10,500 pounds.
