GMC Sierra EV Pickup will Top Tesla’s Cybertruck Range by 100 Miles

The new GMC Sierra EV pickup truck is ready to take to the streets and show other all-electric trucks what’s up while also confidently being a real truck for customers. One vehicle that will undoubtedly be bowing down to the Sierra EV is the new Tesla Cybertruck. The latest information from General Motors shows that the GMC EV pickup will have at least 100 extra miles of range compared to Tesla’s new truck. 

More Range For More Usability

The increase in range is specific to the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 that is debuting soon, and the truck’s estimated range will jump from 400 miles to 440 miles. Couple that with its ability to tow up to 10,000 lbs, and the Sierra EV is all truck. The Tesla Cybertruck’s range varies depending on the trim level. The single-motor, rear-wheel drive model can drive up to 250 miles on a single charge, while the Cyberbeast can do 320 miles, and the base all-wheel-drive trim has 340 miles of range.

Available To Order At Ewing Buick GMC

Buyers looking to order their new Sierra EV can do so now at Ewing Buick GMC. The first model available will be the Denali Edition 1 with a base price of $99,495, not including the $1,995 destination fee. However, in 2025, the AT4 and Elevation trim levels will be rolling onto dealer lots, reportedly costing quite a bit less. GMC has said that a base version of the Sierra EV will cost about $50,000. 

Horsepower & Charging Power

GMC has estimated the Sierra EV will have 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. The all-electric truck is capable of charging at 350 kW through an 800 Volt DC Fast Charging station, which will give drivers 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes, bringing EVs even closer to gas-powered cars’ ability to “fuel” up quickly. 

A Real Truck For Truck Buyers

Truck customers who want a “real truck” will not only love the previously mentioned towing capabilities of 10,000 lbs but also the max payload of 1,450 lbs. The Sierra EV will also feature 4-wheel steering, allowing the truck to CrabWalk and maneuver better in all types of driving situations. Air ride suspension will also enable the Sierra to be raised and lowered by up to 2 inches. The MultiPro MidGate is a welcomed innovative feature of the new truck. It gives a maximum loading length of almost 11 feet with the MidGate down and the MultiPro Tailgate’s load stop open.
