TFLTruck Takes On the GMC Hummer EV Pickup Truck

When GMC introduced the Hummer EV Pickup truck, there were a lot of interesting looks. Some loved it and immediately took delivery. Others are slowly warming up to it as they see more on the road. 

The website The Fast Lane Truck (TFLTruck) was not afraid of the Hummer EV Pickup truck. In fact, it took a 2025 3X model on a recent test to see whether it holds up to its promises. In short, the editors think it’s “awesome.” The Hummer EV Pickup 3X has three motors turning out up to 1,000 horsepower and a massive maximum of 11,500 pound-feet of torque.  

It also has its own list of features that make driving it fun. Crab Walk works at low speeds and turns the rear wheels in the same angle as the front wheels, enabling the truck to move diagonally to help manage tight trails and spaces. You also have 4-Wheel Steer, which improves the turning circle to assist in making tighter turns. Part of the 3X trim level, Watts to Freedom, unleashes the maximum performance potential of the Hummer EV Pickup truck. Extract Mode triggers the Adaptive Air Ride Suspension to lift the vehicle six inches to get over tougher obstacles, from water fording to uneven surfaces. Plus, you can opt your 3X with Torque Vectoring, enabling maneuverability and traction towards conquering the most challenging terrain.  

These features enticed TFLTruck to do both on- and off-road testing. The editors pointed out how much they appreciated the Hummer EV Pickup’s extraordinary capabilities. As TFLTruck said in its review: “Even with the nitpicks and the drawbacks, the 2025 GMC Hummer EV pickup is still a bada** supertruck. If anything, it’s cooler than a high-end sports car because it can still do truck things, thanks to its 8,500-pound towing capacity and 5-foot-by-4-foot bed, and do 0-60 in a shade over three seconds. And even if some people judge and hate you for driving it, just like they did with the folks driving gas-swilling H2s, I still feel like a total baller behind the wheel.”
