THE GMC HUMMER EV IS ROLLING DOWN THE ASSEMBLY LINE

January 19th, 2022 by

The talk of an electric vehicle future is more than just talk. It is an action. Action is available right now.

The first 2022 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup Trucks are now being delivered to its customers – including you! If you received notification from Ewing Buick GMC of Plano that your vehicle is arriving for you to take delivery – we welcome you to our electric vehicle future!

Each HUMMER EV is produced at Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. This plant has produced many important General Motors vehicles in the past. However, this facility received a complete retooling, upgrade and expansion, thanks to a $2.2 billion investment by GM. Factory ZERO will serve as the launchpad for the company’s EV strategy to be seen across Buick and GMC moving forward.

The Ultium platform forms the basis of the HUMMER EV. This is not just exclusive to our supertruck, but it will be the platform for all future electric vehicles for Buick and GMC. In a year’s time, the SUV version will join the supertruck in the HUMMER EV lineup.

Back in March of 2021, the first GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 Pickup was auctioned at Barrett-Jackson at a hammer price of $2.5 million with proceeds benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization established to honor the memory of Sept. 11 first responder Stephen Siller. The foundation builds mortgage-free, accessible smart homes for the most catastrophically injured veterans and provides mortgage-free homes for Gold Star families and the families of first responders killed in the line of duty. More information is available at www.tunnel2towers.org.

While reservations for the Edition 1 models are sold out, other versions of the GMC HUMMER EV Pickup Truck and SUV are still available for reservations at GMC.com/HummerEV. You can also contact Ewing Buick GMC of Plano for assistance on taking part of our electric vehicle future by becoming an owner of this amazing new vehicle.
