What is CPO And Why You May Be Interested
For many vehicle shoppers, models within the GM Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program have proven to be the sweet spot between affordability and new-car peace of mind. Unlike used vehicles, particularly from private sellers, with a CPO vehicle, you know you are not buying a car with a problem you can’t see. Instead, you can be confident knowing that any CPO vehicle you find has been thoroughly inspected, reconditioned, and carries a warranty.
GM CPO Specifics

Buick, GMC, and Chevrolet CPO models usually start out as recent-year models that have been traded into the dealership for a newer model, or vehicles that have come to the end of their lease. But not all trade-ins or off-lease vehicles can qualify as CPO vehicles. The entry requirements are as follows:
- Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC model
- Within 6 model years old
- Within a maximum of 75,000 miles
- Have a clean title
Qualifying models must then pass our 172-Point Vehicle Inspection and Reconditioning Process which is performed by our GM-trained service technicians. They will also perform any outstanding safety recalls on the model.
Post-Sale Confidence

Consider it a 3-day, 150-mile test drive. If at any point within that time, you are not completely pleased with your purchase you can exchange it for another CPO vehicle, accounting for any price differences. Every CPO vehicle sold is then backed up by two warranties which in turn are backed by the manufacturer and will be honored at any Buick, GMC, or Chevrolet dealership.
- 6-Year/100,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty1
- 12-Month/12,000-Mile Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty2
- Both warranties have no deductible fee and are fully transferable
Other CPO benefits

Free repairs are a great help, but there is still the disruption to your life to consider. The CPO program helps you there as well as you will be covered with full Roadside Assistance for the duration of your Powertrain Limited Warranty (6 years or 100,000 miles) from new-vehicle delivery, whichever comes first.
Just as with our new models, all models equipped with OnStar will also receive a limited trial of OnStar3, including:
- Automatic Crash Response
- Advanced Diagnostics
- Turn-by-Turn Navigation.
In addition, all models capable of receiving SiriusXM satellite radio will come with three trial months of the SiriusXM Platinum Package4, giving you over 150 channels, many of them commercial-free with a wide variety of formats.
Also included are two included maintenance visits within 2 years/24,000 miles, which includes oil and filter changes, tire rotations, and multi-point inspections.5
If you are in the market for a pre-owned vehicle yet want the peace of mind of a new one, the CPO vehicles at Ewing Buick GMC are the answer. However, one big difference between new and CPO vehicles is that we don’t get a regular shipment of them, thus we can’t predict what will be in our inventory at any time. Fortunately, when you have something in mind you can simply check our CPO Inventory and reach out to any one of our Ewing Buick GMC Representatives to assist you in scheduling your test drive and get you going on your new-to-you journey.
