The test vehicle Voelk worked with came with the dual-motor Max Range driveline, delivering 760-horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. The two motors receive their energy from a 205-kilowatt-hour battery pack. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that this driveline is capable of 460 miles of range.  

With this massive amount of power, the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali is rated to tow up to 10,500 pounds. The Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance technology, combined with Max Power mode, can be enabled to not only assist in driving, but to keep the trailer in line on the highway.  

The 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali test vehicle was equipped with 4-Wheel Steer, combined with Crab Walk. Voelk observed that “the 12-year-old in me is happy it exists” while accomplishing diagonal maneuvers in a “completely controlled way.”

They include the large 16.8-inch infotainment touchscreen that controls many vehicle functions, as well as the hub for the Google Built-in suite of apps and navigation. In his driving impressions, Voelk states that the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali rides “quite nicely…it tracks straight and true with little body roll in corners without any drivetrain vibration. It’s more relaxing to drive over long distances.” In all, he said that it is a “comfortable, refined machine.”  

In conclusion, Voelk said this about the 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali: “This is the best electric pickup money can buy.”
