The Glamorous GMC Acadia Denali On The Edge Of A Sparse Forest

The 2024 GMC Acadia is a huge step from the previous design, and we mean huge in the most literal manner. Ewing GMC of Plano posted a previous blog that goes into detail on the Acadia’s regained size. This one delves more deeply into the new model’s more advanced technology.

The Marvelous Infotainment Screen Of The GMC Acadia Denali

New Infotainment System

Even the entry-level Elevation model Acadia features the 15-inch diagonal GMC Premium Infotainment System. It is operated by the Google Built-in system, which brings with it several useful technologies and features as well as quick, accurate responses. First is the screen itself, which technically is a portrait format, but the actual dynamic display is only a little taller than it is wide, resulting in a large, nearly square screen with plenty of space. The rest of the screen, which works behind the large and useful power/volume knob, features permanent controls for instant response on several functions. Likewise, below are two rows of control displays for the climate control system, with the lower one controlled by a bank of physical controls.

One of the most valuable apps displayed on the menu screen will be the standard Google Maps navigation system, which is independent of any cell phone connection. The world’s most loved navigation system is accurate, includes traffic color-coded maps, and prompts to reroute you if your previous route has built up with traffic congestion and faster routes are available. Also “built-in” is the Google Assistant Voice recognition, which you will find much better at understanding your commands than previous voice-activated systems. Though a Google system, it is easily compatible with both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, with both featuring a wireless connection.

The New GMC Acadia's Spectacular And Improved High Definition Surround Vision

HD Surround Vision

Cameras are an essential part of the Acadia experience. All models have standard HD Surround Vision, which provides a view of all around the vehicle, with the ability to select each view specifically. It is a great way to spot anything you cannot spot from the driver’s seat around the big vehicle. You can also select dynamic guidelines to show your heading, whether forward or reverse. If you opt for the digital rearview mirror or Trailer Assist view for towing, more cameras are at play.

Available SuperCruise

Since Acadia is likely to be your first choice as a road trip vehicle, perhaps the most significant driver-assist technology is the overachieving GM SuperCruise system, which is available on every Acadia model. Over 400,000 highways have been mapped for the system, and up to 720,000 are planned before the end of the year. SuperCruise offers true hands-free driving, including towing a trailer and hands-free vehicle passing.

So, the Acadia is big in size and big in technology. See how it all comes together in one fantastic three-row crossover at Ewing GMC of Plano
